Frozen Halal Chicken Nuggets: Where You Can Buy Them

I recently had a chat with my Uncle, who happens to be in the restaurant business, about halal chicken nuggets. Not sure how we got to that topic of halal mcnuggets, but somehow we did.

My 2 1/2 year old daughter goes through an insane amount of halal frozen chicken nuggets. She loves em! And since I was deprived of them myself as a child, I eat quite of bit of them myself!

The one we buy is from Al-Safa chicken:
Al Safa Frozen Halal Chicken Nuggets.

We have them with barbeque sauce and/or ranch dressing, and they’re delicious! I recently heard how bachelor guys (around college age, and the ones that care about eating zabihah or halal only meat) basically survive on this stuff.

The only thing is that I feel like it’s a bit pricey at $5.99/box. The Al-Safa box says it comes with 6 serving sizes at 6 pieces each. So that’s like 36 for $5.99, which comes out to about $0.18 each nugget (after taxes). Take into consideration that McDonalds sells like 50 for $9.99. I figured there must be a cheaper option that Al-Safa especially if you buy in bulk.

So I asked my Uncle if he knew any other good places to get frozen halal nuggets. He mentioned that national US-based producers, Townsend and Tyson both now sell halal chicken nuggets!

Through a Google search, I couldn’t find any indication of Tyson selling halal chicken . If anyone can point me to a link, that’d be great. In the meanwhile, I emailed Tyson directly and asked them if I can find halal chicken nuggets made by Tyson anywhere in the US. Another problem is that I still can’t figure out where to buy the frozen Townsend halal nuggets. It doesn’t mention anywhere on their site. Hmm…another example of a company that can use the services of MAN ;)
