Google Gmail Logo

I’ve been using Gmail off and on for a while now.  Recently, we switched our company’s email to Google Apps, so I’ve been using it more extensively lately. However, most of my email checking is done through Outlook using imap. When I’m away from my home pc, I just check my email through the Gmail interface.  However, most of our internal company emails have multiple receipients, which usually ends up with each email having  multiple replies.

Since I’ve gotten used to Outlook and Yahoo! Mail, I’ve been wondering …how to turn off the threaded view in Gmail? The simple answer is that it can’t be done.   I checked all the options in Gmail, with no luck. Then I did a quick google search and all the discussions say the same thing…it’s not possible.

I guess I’ll have to stick with the default threaded view for now. I really wish Google at least gave us the option to turn off the default threaded view setting. I know most users like it…but sometimes you just want to view your emails in classic view.

So the only way around it for now is to use your favorite email client and grab the google mail through IMAP or POP3 . Google Labs, hope you’re listening.
